Backing Up

So we know we should be backing our valuable data up.

If you do back up, how safe are your backups?
What would happen if your house was broken into? Would your CDs or external harddisk be left? Or what about fire? All your possessions are replaceable but your work, records and photos are not!

Save yourself from the problems associated with the loss of your prescious data simply by utilising our remote drives to store your backups!

How to backup

Often!
Backups should be done at least daily of the most important files and weekly and monthly of other files. After all, there's not much use if the report youve just lost was created over the weekend and hasnt yet been backed up! Conversely there is little point backing up your photos every day as they dont change much.

Selectively
Backing up your full harddisk is very hard and impractical. Why backup the operating system and software when you have the media to install it again in case of a disaster. Also files which do not change much such as photos, music and archive documents do not need to be backed up every day. Important files such as current work need to be backed up daily or more.

Securely
Your backups should be kept in a manor where the problem which affects the originals cannot affect the backups. This is often very hard when you need to back up daily or more. We keep your important files in datacenters with some of the most resilient protection available.
